Abstract

This paper aims to demonstrate how the internship bears the potential to build bridges between formal and informal learning and constitutes, therefore, a valuable opportunity for the development of student expertise. Approaching the university world to the working world, transmitting to students a sense of the usefulness of what they learn in the classroom and allowing them to test their skills and to experiment themselves capable, the internship promotes forms of meaningful and situated learning, insisting on the active, interactive and productive role of the learner, and placing the student in a framework that takes the configuration of a community of practice.
