Alle origini del primo piano di studi palestinese: la costruzione narrativa di un popolo

Abstract

Studying education in the Arab world without taking into account the cultural, political and social development of competing forces constitutes an undertaking doomed to failure, if not impossible. This is even more true for the Palestinian case. In the following pages I face a thorny issue and its multiple implications: the context in which arises and develops the first attempt to create a Palestinian curriculum. Reference is made herein to the period extending from the mid-90s to the early 2000s, inhabited by proposals for a radical educational reform, soon mitigated by the aspiration to an institutionalized nationalism in which the aim is to build and formalize an historical, geographical and civic identity of a people.
