Abstract

Starting from a brief overview of today society, the paper analyzes the role of school systems in the reception and inclusion of students without Italian citizenship. The first part of the paper is focused on the policies made by the Italian government in order to promote the practices of reception and insertion of those students. In the second part of the article the paper explains the ways of reception applied in Italian educational contexts. In the third and last part of the work, after some pedagogical considerations, the paper offers a different perspective in the reception issue with the aim to create, for all students (not just for migrant and postmigrant ones) an inclusive and interactive educational space, trying to go in these manner 'beyond' the traditional concept of reception itself.
