Abstract

A short, but strong call to the numbers of hungry in the world by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), the World Food Programme (WFP), to the ONU report The State of Food Insecurity in the world (SOFI 2014) on the themes of Hidden Hunger, malnutrition and undernutrition. These numbers become people (850 million) in a perspective anthropo-ethics that relates hunger and food-safety as exemplified in the story of Shin Dong-hyuk, young Korean escaped from a labor camp in North Korea, moved by the extraordinary force of desire-imagination of the taste of chicken. A concluding reflection on the combination of hunger-happiness in relation to freedom, self-determination, possibilità of choosing as a guarantee of human dignity.
