Abstract

The paper addresses the roles and competences of tutors when asked to perform in learning activities taking place outside the classroom, by analysing the case of the learning programme “International Student Competition on Place Branding and Mediterranean Diet”, which takes place in real settings across a rural area of the Marche Region, Italy. The aim of the paper is to identify the different tutoring tasks and the specific competences needed to ensure a successful learning action, by focusing then on the competences needed for a not-disciplinary tutor.
