Rappresentazioni e visioni sulla scuola in carcere: l'esperienza della Casa circondariale di Bergamo

Abstract

The essay, starting from a few interviews carried out in the research project „La scuola in carcere‟, examines in depth the ideas about the functions and significance of school in the prison of Bergamo. The result is a framework in which school is recognized and valued as a flexible organizational model, for its positive influence on various levels of the prisoners-studentsʼ life and for the dialoguing ability with other contexts and professional workers involved in the treatment. However, it is essential to increase the exchange with these areas and reinforce the educational syllabus in order to engage also the most fragile prisoners.
