Fuori registro. La "pedagogia attiva" di Maria Maltoni

  • Francesco Paolo Calvaruso

Abstract

Talking about Activism in pedagogy means, first, to outiline the strength of a theory that was able to defeat an old way to consider and think school and pupils. Secondary, it means also to point out some of the best intuitions of outstanding
educators, such as Maria Maltoni. She was a rural teacher near Florence that, along 36 years, was able to combine spontaneity, originality and heart in order to educate her students for truth and manners. Therefore, this paper would like to underline the two points of strength of her method: diary and sketch. It emerged the portrait of a teacher 'out of register' whose practices were oriented by one only noble purpose: educating.
